Stone by Stone & Cut by Cut
Bricks – Stone by Stone & Cut by Cut combines new colour-coated papercuts about the Gothic brick churches in Wismar and Lübeck. The papercuts were developed on the occasion of the exhibition „Rund um die Norddeutsche Backsteingotik“ [About the North German Red Brick Gothic] in the Architektenkammer Hannover during summer 2012.
They all comply to the same mathematical rule, which can also be found in the group of works „Dortmunder U“ and „Norddeutsche Backsteingotik“ [North German red brick Gothic]. When arranging identical components, structures develop which can be conceived as an to all four sides evenly expanding system.
